VATICAN - Pope Benedict will spark concerns about the survival of the Catholic Church itself, a worried expert has claimed, as fears grow about Pope Francis' health. Francis was forced to cancel three events at short notice over the weekend, after his ongoing issues with sciatica struck the 84-year-old again. Matteo Bruni, a spokesman for the Vatican, confirmed that due to the return of his condition he would not deliver Mass on Sunday, as well as attend a meeting with diplomatic corps on Monday, which has now been rearranged.
USA - Today, State Representative Kyle Biedermann’s legislation that would give the people of Texas a chance to vote on Texas becoming an independent, self-governing nation became official. The “Texas Independence Referendum Act” would give Texans an opportunity to head to the polls in November of 2021 and start the process of reasserting our status as an independent nation. If the people vote in favor, the bill provides for the establishment of a committee to begin working on a transitional plan which would address all of the issues related to decoupling from the federal government.
USA - It was a presidential inauguration where Catholicism was on full display. From the Catholic Latina Supreme court justice swearing in Vice-President Kamala Harris to Jesuit priest Fr Leo O’Donovan’s invocation prayer. Both were followed by the soaring, moving poem of 22-year-old laureate Amanda Gorman, a Black Catholic member of St Brigid’s Church in Los Angeles. Even Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez, who both sang at the 20 January event, are Catholics.
USA - Countless reports and mountains of evidence tie Beijing Biden and his son, Hunter, to China. The democrat party and some establishment republicans like Mitch McConnell all seem to have frightening ties to China. It is no surprise, then, that Joe ‘Beijing’ Biden has taken us one step closer to globalist technocratic authoritarianism by revoking President Trump’s Executive Order 13920 which banned Chinese and other foreign involvement in our power grid via his own executive order called “Executive Order on Protecting Public Health and the Environment and Restoring Science to Tackle the Climate Crisis” Yes, that’s right: somehow, allowing China the possibility to have access to our power grid – a top piece of American national security infrastructure – is somehow necessary to combat climate change, promote public health, and promote science.
SWITZERLAND - The World Economic Forum (WEF) has revealed its Davos 2021 Agenda, confirming the annual gathering of political and business elites next month will be a digital event heralding the public unveiling of its Great Reset Initiative. In a preview to the digital “Davos Dialogues”, the WEF asserts, “The time to rebuild trust and to make crucial choices is fast approaching as the need to reset priorities and the urgency to reform systems grow stronger around the world.”
SWITZERLAND - The Great Reset of the World Economic Forum is a 21st Century rollout for a new form of global total control. “We only have one planet and we know that climate change could be the next global disaster with even more dramatic consequences for humankind. We have to decarbonise the economy in the short window still remaining and bring our thinking and behaviour once more into harmony with nature,” declared WEF founder Schwab about the January 2021 agenda.

UK - Prime Minister Boris Johnson reportedly told Joe Biden that his ascendancy to the White House represented a “moment of hope in a dark time” as the leaders discussed their ‘Build Back Better’ agenda during a phone call on Saturday. Mr Johnson is reported to be the first international leader in Europe to speak with Joe Biden as President. Relations between the two leaders appear to have warmed, after initially seeming cool due to Biden’s opposition to Brexit and Johnson’s past criticism of Barack Obama removing a bust of Sir Winston Churchill from the Oval Office. According to a White House readout of the conversation, Biden expressed his intention to work with the Johnson administration to “revitalise transatlantic ties” and work through “multilateral organisations, on shared challenges such as combating climate change, containing COVID-19, and ensuring global health security.”
USA - President Biden has revoked a Trump-era executive order that sought to keep foreign countries and companies out of America’s bulk power systems – principally entities associated with the Chinese Communist Party – as part of his “Executive Order on Protecting Public Health and the Environment and Restoring Science to Tackle the Climate Crisis.”
EUROPE - Brussels is bracing for a new threat as eurosceptic leaders in France, Italy and Spain are teaming up to launch a joint manifesto against their countries' membership to the European Union. In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Generation Frexit founder Charles-Henri Gallois revealed he is teaming up with Italexit, Espexit and other anti-European Union campaigners in the continent, to launch a joint programme against the Brussels bloc.
USA - The police state is coming for “religious extremists”, “evangelical Christians”, “pro-life” activists and “libertarians”. If you cherish faith, family and freedom, you might want to keep a low profile for a while. The Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2021 has been unveiled in Congress, and it has bipartisan support. It is essentially “the Patriot Act on steroids”, and we are being told that it is almost certain that some version of the legislation will make it to Biden’s desk for him to sign. Personally, I am very much against all forms of domestic terrorism, and a law which could help to prevent terror attacks from happening is going to sound like a good thing to a lot of people. Unfortunately, it appears that this bill is meant to specifically target certain groups, and as you read this article you may discover that you are a member of one or more of those groups.
USA - The increased censorship of people’s views expressed on social media by Big Tech companies has been part of an orchestrated attack on the First Amendment, Patrick Wood, director and founder of Citizens for Free Speech, told The Epoch Times. Wood believes that there is an agenda behind the censorship. It would be almost statistically impossible to attack simultaneously all five elements of the First Amendment: freedom of religion, free speech, freedom of the press, the right to assemble, and the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances, Wood said in an interview for Epoch Times’ “Crossroads.” All five of those “have been shattered to pieces in the last year and the attack had started actually before that probably five [or] six years ago,” Wood said, adding, “Free speech is hanging by a thread and the First Amendment is hanging by a thread.” Wood said that it was unprecedented that three Big Tech companies in one day took down competitor Parler under the pretext of violating their policies, calling it collusion.
ETHIOPIA - In the past few days, there have been new reports from northeast Ethiopia of swarms in Afambo, Asayita and Dubti districts of the Afar region as well as in North and South Wollo zones in eastern Amhara region. The swarms are likely to have arrived from the Sitti zone near Dire Dawa and northwest Somalia. There is a risk that the swarms could continue to move further into Amhara and reach the Tigray region. Elsewhere, immature swarms are present in Oromia and SNPP regions.

POLAND - Protesters have disrupted church services across Poland in the latest show of discontent against a court's near-total ban on abortion. The protesters staged sit-ins and held pro-choice banners, interrupting Sunday Mass at some churches. The protests are considered unusual in a country where the Roman Catholic church has great influence. They follow a ruling by Poland's top court that ending the life of a deformed foetus is unconstitutional. The ruling by the Constitutional Court closed one of the few remaining legal grounds for abortion in Poland. It means abortion is only valid in cases of rape or incest, or to protect the mother's life. Critics of the Catholic Church argue that it exerts too much political influence over government policy in Poland.
