USA - If capitulating to the trans lobby is the best Joe Biden can do in his first week in power, ailing America is truly doomed. The Democrats are incapable of dealing with the real issues facing the US. Welcome to the brave new transgender world, where mothers are ‘gestational carriers’ and males identifying as females win all the ‘women’s’ sports events. In America and Australia, both ailing and faltering liberal democracies, it has been an eventful week for transgender activists and their cohorts, small in number though they are. President Biden in his first week in office has fervently embraced the transgender cause.
ISRAEL - New US President Joe Biden supports a two-state solution in an attempt to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the acting US Ambassador to the UN, Richard Mills, told the Security Council on Tuesday. "Under the new administration, the policy of the US will be to support a mutually agreed two-state solution in which Israel lives in peace and security alongside a viable Palestinian state," Mills said. The acting UN envoy added that US policy remains the "best way" to ensure Israel's future as a democratic and Jewish state, while guaranteeing peace and security for Palestine, although success is dependent on the engagement of both sides. Mills pledged that the US would call on the two nations to halt tactics such as the annexation of territory, settlement activities and the incitement of violence.
USA - Joe Biden seems keen to reassert the US’s role as ‘global policeman’. But this doesn’t reflect the way the world has evolved, and a position that doesn’t assume American primacy would help in avoiding unnecessary conflicts. In 1991, US President George H W Bush proclaimed a “new world order” on the eve of the Gulf War. The speech marked a turning point in history. The Soviet Union was on its last legs, and Ba’athist Iraq under Saddam Hussein was about to feel the brunt of America’s now undisputed global dominance, having occupied Kuwait. For the senior President Bush, the arrival of US unipolarity and the dawn of a “new American century” would give his country an open canvas to implement its vision across the entire world, and thus establish its position as the ‘global policeman’. Thirty years have since passed. The world has changed, but America’s sense of self-perception has not. But we no longer live in a world of unending American primacy...
USA - Reform UK leader Nigel Farage accused President Joe Biden of being “in complete denial” about violence committed by far-left movements like Black Lives Matter and Antifa. The Brexit leader said that Biden’s calls for unity will ring hollow if the president fails to acknowledge the left-wing violence that has plagued America over the past year and fails to face the problem. Farage said that “Joe Biden is completely in denial about Antifa,” pointing to Biden’s claim in the presidential debate that Antifa is just an “idea“. “He better get out of denial pretty quickly,” Mr Farage warned, saying: “He better recognize that there is wrong on both sides of this… but the storming of the Capitol is just one very bad example compared to dozens that have been committed by Antifa and others.”
GERMANY - The German Green Party foundation published an appeal calling for a "substantial increase" in the German military budget and for maintaining US nuclear weapons in Germany. "Nuclear-sharing is a core element of the strategic connection" between the USA and Germany, according to the appeal, published on the webpage of the Green Party's Heinrich-Böll-Foundation on the occasion of US President Biden's inauguration. The "authors and signatories" include the chairwoman of the Green Foundation as well as a retired Bundeswehr lieutenant general, who, in 2014, as a high-ranking NATO functionary was in charge of NATO's realignment against Russia. The Greens, who are still reputed to be able to integrate and politically neutralize certain factions formerly involved in the peace movement, have for some time been increasingly reaching out to the Bundeswehr. For years they have been particularly popular among those in the top income bracket. Spearheading the defense of western hegemony in the global power struggle, the Greens have positioned themselves as adversaries of Russia and China.
CANADA - A Canadian father designed a “bikini” for young boys who want to live as girls, according to a recently released report. Jamie Alexander saw his biological son, Ruby, struggle with gender identity issues growing up. Ruby had trouble finding bikini bottoms that he could feel confident in expressing his gender identity. That is when Alexander got the idea to create the form-fitting clothing brand, Rubies, for boys who want to express themselves as girls.
INDONESIA - Indonesia’s most active volcano erupted Wednesday with a river of lava and searing gas clouds flowing 3,000 meters (nearly 10,000 feet) down its slopes. No casualties were reported. The sounds of the eruption could be heard 30 kilometers (18 miles) away, officials said. It was Mount Merapi’s biggest lava flow since authorities raised its danger level in November, said Hanik Humaida, the head of Yogyakarta’s Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation Center. The 2,968-meter (9,737-foot) volcano is on a densely populated Java island near the ancient city of Yogyakarta. It is the most active of dozens of Indonesian volcanoes and has repeatedly erupted with lava and gas clouds recently. Merapi’s last major eruption in 2010 killed 347 people.
USA - The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists’ “Doomsday Clock” – a construct representing the threats to humanity from the nuclear to the natural – remains in the red at 100 seconds to midnight for 2021, its proprietors have warned. The scientists released their annual forecast on Wednesday, highlighting a resurgent nuclear arms race, climate change, and online misinformation about the Covid-19 epidemic as three existential threats humanity must face down if the species is to survive. While the clock’s hands haven’t moved since 2020, when it ticked into its current position, the scientists behind it have cautioned urgently against allowing the current state of affairs to settle in as a “new abnormal.” If humanity is to avoid an existential catastrophe – one that would dwarf anything it has yet seen – national leaders must do a far better job of countering disinformation, heeding science, and cooperating to diminish global risks.
SWITZERLAND - The World Economic Forum wants you to know that there is nothing sinister about its globalist masterplan — aka The Great Reset — for a New World Order. It says so in a promo video, released to coincide with its annual Davos summit (which is taking place online all this week). In the video, the WEF admits that some people think that the Great Reset sounds like ‘some nefarious plan for world domination.’ But nothing could be further from the truth, the video goes on to insist. The Great Reset is simply “an opportunity to build a better world.”
RUSSIA - Russian President Vladimir Putin said the world risks sliding into an “all against all” conflict amid tensions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and growing economic inequality. Addressing the World Economic Forum on Wednesday for the first time in 12 years, Putin drew parallels with the 1930s when he said a failure to resolve international problems sparked World War II.
USA - On Tuesday, Facebook suspended Robert A J Gagnon, a prominent Christian scholar on the topic of Bible sexuality, for 7 days. His crime? Speaking out against transgender ideology and President Joe Biden’s new transgender military policy. Facebook claimed that Gagnon’s criticism of this government-imposed ideology violated the platform’s “Community Standards on violence and incitement.” Ironically, Gagnon’s post drew attention to Facebook’s suspension of his friend, Laurie Higgins, who got a 7-day ban for criticizing Biden’s policy. “There was absolutely no incitement to violence on our part. We abhor violence done to any person,” Gagnon told PJ Media on Tuesday. “This is just a thinly veiled and pathetic excuse for censorship of any critical views toward trans-tyranny over our consciences, religion, and reason.” “Only one point of view is being allowed,” he added, ominously. “Trump was not the great danger to the Republic. Left-wing canceling is.”
ISRAEL - The Israeli Defense Forces chief of staff has asked the government for $1.2 billion for war with Iran on top of the $4 billion the country has already spent, in a clear indication of the increasingly fraught situation in the Middle East. “The US and the rest of the world should reject even a proposal to reach what is called an improved nuclear agreement with Iran,” Lieutenant General Avi Kochavi said yesterday, in contradiction of most of what the Biden administration has indicated it is likely to do. Israel’s defense cabinet will discuss the defense budget for 2021 in a few days.
IRAN - The spokesman for the Iranian armed forces, Major General Abu al-Fadl Shikaraji, said on Wednesday “if Israel commits any mistake against Iran, the cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa will be completely destroyed.” He added, "Israel's threats are psychological warfare, even if they are realistic, then they are illusions,” warning that the Iranian army "will destroy Tel Aviv and vanish it if Israel commits any stupidity against our nuclear facilities." "The Israeli army lives in horror, it is too weak to execute its threats," he stressed. According to foreign media, the most advanced long-range strike missile is the Jericho-3, believed to have two or three-stages, using solid propellant and having a payload of 1,000 to 1,300 kg. The payload could be a single 750 kg nuclear warhead or two or three low-yield Multiple Independently Targetable Reentry Vehicle (MIRV) warheads. The Jericho-3s range is estimated to be more than 5,000 km.
UK - Money tops human rights as the UK flogs £2.6nbillion of sniper rifles, riot shields, tear gas and guns to ‘dodgy’ regimes. A new report reveals how Britain is stealthily engaged in selling military equipment to countries subject to arms embargoes and trade sanctions, such as Pakistan, Nigeria, and Kyrgyzstan, and to the authorities in Hong Kong. The promotion of human rights overseas is one of the most frequently and fervently avowed objectives of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
UK - Unless the United Kingdom is fundamentally reformed it could swiftly become a failed state as many people have lost faith in the way the country is governed by, and in the interests of, a London-centric elite, former Prime Minister Gordon Brown said. “I believe the choice is now between a reformed state and a failed state,” Brown wrote in the Daily Telegraph newspaper. “It is indeed Scotland where dissatisfaction is so deep that it threatens the end of the United Kingdom.” “‘Whoever in London thought of that?’ is a common refrain, reflecting the frustration of people in outlying communities who feel they are the forgotten men and women, virtually invisible to Whitehall,” Brown, who served as Labour prime minister from 2007 to 2010, wrote.
