USA - The modern phenomenon of ‘woke’ is hard to pin down. Is it a movement, a religion, an attitude, or a lifestyle? Here we offer our own definition that places woke in the broader historical and political story of the West. We start with a list of attitudinal elements that most people would agree should count as part of woke. In this we are spoiled for choice, with a whole smorgasbord of examples from the personal, political and corporate spheres from which to discern the core elements.

INDONESIA - German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius discussed the growing ties in a meeting with his Indonesian counterpart, Prabowo Subianto, in Jakarta. “We talked about the possibility of having a deal about some submarines. We were talking about the two minesweepers which are already on the way to Indonesia,” Pistorius said. Germany and Indonesia are also planning a joint military exercise with other regional partners, but no details have been disclosed.

SAUDI ARABIA - Saudi Arabia will reduce how much oil it sends to the global economy, taking a unilateral step to prop up the sagging price of crude after two previous cuts to supply by major producing countries in the OPEC+ alliance failed to push oil higher. The Saudi cut of 1 million barrels per day, to start in July, comes as the other OPEC+ producers agreed in a meeting in Vienna to extend earlier production cuts through next year.

USA - With an unknown volume of fentanyl and other drugs pouring through the southern border between ports of entry in Arizona, federal agents recently seized enough fentanyl to kill more than 450 million people at several ports of entry and checkpoints. Homeland Security Investigations, US Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations-Tucson Field Office agents working through “Operation Blue Lotus,” and Border Patrol Tucson and Yuma Sector agents working through “Operation Four Horsemen” seized substantial amounts of methamphetamine and over a ton of fentanyl. The operations occurred from March 6 to May 8 at four ports of entry and at two checkpoints. With two milligrams considered a lethal dose, one ton of fentanyl, or 2,000 pounds, is enough to kill 453,592,400 people.

CANADA - Canadian fires bring dangerous air quality to the US, impacting millions of Americans. Dry weather and gusty winds in the Midwest have increased the wildfire risk. Dangerous air quality will be a significant issue for millions of Americans to deal with early this week, as fires continue to spark throughout Canada. Much of that smoke is coming from new wildfires in the Quebec province, according to meteorologists. There have been nearly 400 forest fires in the province so far in 2023, while the 10-year average is 197, data from the fire prevention nonprofit SOPFEU shows, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

UK - Gonorrhoea has enjoyed a post-pandemic boom with cases soaring to their highest ever level, official data shows. A record breaking 82,592 people were diagnosed with the sexually transmitted infection (STI) in 2022. This is the highest total cases recorded since data on the STI started to be collected in 1918, the year World War One ended. The figure is also 16.1 per cent up on 2019's data, which is the last full year of data from before the Covid pandemic when STI testing largely reduced. UK health authorities also warned cases of the dangerous STI syphilis are also on the rise. Chlamydia and gonorrhoea can cause infertility and pelvic inflammatory disease, while syphilis can cause potentially life-threatening problems with the brain, heart or nerves.

USA - There is nothing wrong with being optimistic, but blind optimism can be a very dangerous thing. The reason why so many of the “experts” were shocked by the Great Recession of 2008 and 2009 is because they didn’t want to believe that such a thing could happen. Unfortunately, we are witnessing a similar pattern now. Even though we are absolutely drowning in debt, inflation is wildly out of control, our currency is being transformed into toilet paper, the housing market has started to crash and mass layoffs are being conducted all over the nation, a lot of the “experts” continue to insist that everything is going to be just fine.

USA - A former Anheuser-Busch executive has claimed that institutional investors are pushing left-wing ideology on the companies they invest in, spurring recent controversies like the ones that engulfed Bud Light and Target. Anson Frericks, a co-founder of Strive Asset Management who previously spent a decade at Anheuser-Busch, made the claim in an interview on Tuesday on Fox News. 'You just have to follow the money. Take a look at BlackRock, State Street, Vanguard - they manage $20 billion worth of capital,' he said.

USA - The National Anthem, The Bible And The Christian Faith Are All Considered To Be Highly Offensive In Amerika Now. We live in an upside down society with completely upside down values. In this sort of an environment, literally anything that you say could get you into serious trouble. Theoretically, our Constitution is supposed to guarantee the right of free speech for us, but the truth is that free speech has been dead for quite some time now. Those that are in the process of fundamentally transforming our society have made policing speech one of their highest priorities, and their hordes of brainwashed minions are always ready to step in and crack down whenever a potential violation has been detected.

USA - A Utah school district has banned the Bible for elementary and middle school students after it was determined to be 'too vulgar' and 'too violent' for younger readers. Officials in the Davis district - a 72,000-student district north of Salt Lake City - removed the religious text from elementary and middle schools but will keep it in high schools. A committee with the district reviewed The Good Book after a complaint by a parent, and district officials say the committee is made up of parents, teachers and administrators. There was also a complaint to remove the Book of Mormon from younger students' libraries.

USA - It is impossible to deny how far left all of America’s institutions have shifted in the past few years. Corporate board rooms, the media, sports teams and even the military all chant the same dogma and insist that you comply. How did that happen? As Ernest Hemingway wrote on how one goes bankrupt, “gradually, then suddenly.” Indeed, our leading institutions face a moral bankruptcy unprecedented in American history.

UNITED NATIONS - The United Nations has voiced out its objections toward Uganda’s newly-signed Anti-Homosexuality Act of 2023, which imposes capital punishment on “aggravated homosexuality.” UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres pointed out that the law signed by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on May 29 “conflicts with key international treaties and violates the rights of Ugandan citizens.” The UN’s Human Rights Office (HRO) previously called for an “urgent” judicial review of the law. It also described the newly-signed act as a “recipe for systemic violations of the rights” of Ugandans

USA - There is anarchy in the USA. More and more, Americans are living every day in a dystopia that just a few years ago would have been utterly unimaginable. From major cities to the border, and even in some suburbs, the rule of law is now all but meaningless, with hard-working families left to pay the price in blood and treasure. The America we grew up in – of bright shopping malls that weren’t attacked by thieving mobs, of gas stations where carjacking wasn't commonplace, and of public transport that didn't double as a homeless shelter – is vanishing. Last week came the sobering figure that our country now has a $100 billion-a-year shoplifting habit.

UK - More than seven children a day aged between 10 and 15 were arrested last year on suspicion of knife crime, new Home Office figures have revealed. In total, 2,819 children in that age bracket were arrested at some point last year for either using or possessing a knife or other bladed implement such as a screwdriver. Some 438 of those had either been arrested previously or had received a police caution. Since 2012, a total of 34,845 young boys and girls have been detained by police relating to knife crime. One in eight of those had prior interaction with the police, according to the new data. Zombie knives and machetes can easily be bought online with no checks. In March this year it was revealed that ministers were considering a change to weapon legislation to stop gangs exploiting legal loopholes.
