EUROPE - The EU could find itself without five more members, a largely forgotten paper prepared by the German finance ministry claimed. At the start of 2020, just 48 hours before the UK officially left the EU, Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage told the European Parliament that Brexit was a “hammer blow” and that other countries would soon follow suit with exits of their own. In his speech, Mr Farage named Italy and Poland as the member states most likely to follow in Britain’s footsteps. In some respects, he was correct as the current pandemic, lockdown measures and the economic crisis seem to be only exacerbating divisive trends. Italy has the lowest support for the EU out of Europe’s four biggest economies. A recent Euronews poll found that 45 percent of respondents were in favour of Italy leaving the EU if Brexit is successful. France was next at 38 percent, followed by Spain at 37 percent and Germany at 30 percent. Meanwhile, at the summer launch of the Italexit political party, Gianluigi Paragone promised to free Italy “from the cage of the European Union and the single currency”.
USA - If we continue destroying the US dollar at our current pace, toilet paper will eventually be more valuable than US dollars. I know that sounds absolutely crazy, but it is true. Once the COVID pandemic hit the United States, those that control the levers of power in this country decided to go “full Weimar” and they never looked back. As a result, the size of our money supply is rising at a rate that would have been unimaginable just a few short years ago. M1 was up by more than 50 percent in 2020.
JAPAN - Exceedingly high radiation levels found inside crippled reactor buildings at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant were labelled by nuclear regulators as an “extremely serious” challenge to the shutdown process and overall decommissioning of the site. The Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) said a huge amount of radioactive materials apparently had attached to shield plugs of the containment vessels in the No. 2 and No. 3 reactors. Radiation levels were estimated at 10 sieverts per hour, a lethal dose for anyone who spends even an hour in the vicinity, according to experts. The finding would make it exceptionally difficult for workers to move the shield plugs, raising the prospect that the plan to decommission the reactors will have to be reassessed. TEPCO announced December 24 that the removal of nuclear fuel debris will be postponed to 2022 or later, rather than the initially scheduled 2021, due to a delay in the development of equipment to carry out the work.
IRAN - Coinciding with the anniversary of the assassination of Ghasem Soleimani, the Iranian parliament has been presented with a bill that is unprecedented in the 42-year history of the Islamic Republic. The draft bill obliges the government of the Islamic Republic to take action to "destroy" Israel by 2041. It comes five years after remarks made by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declaring that there would be “nothing left” of Israel by 2040: an ultimatum that has since been repeated by anti-Israel protesters at Quds Day rallies. In sum, the bill appears to be a signal of the collapsing state of intelligent governance in the Islamic Republic of Iran. At best, it can be read as a propaganda stunt; at worst, if passed by parliament, it could make conditions for the country even worse for decades to come.
UK - COVID 19 vaccine trials appear to have caused some confusion. Hopefully, this article might help clear things up a bit. People genuinely appear to believe that the COVID 19 vaccines have undergone clinical trials and have been proven to be both safe and effective. That belief is simply wrong. The main point is this. If you decide to have Pfizer and BioNTech’s experimental mRNA-based BNT162b2 (BNT) vaccine, or any other claimed COVID 19 vaccine for that matter, you are a test subject in a drug trial.
CHINA - The news that on Sunday China signed a massive free trade deal with fifteen Asia Pacific Nations confirms China is busy cutting a path forward even as much of the world is in economic turmoil due to covid-19. This is a major victory in that it encompasses almost one-third of all global economic activity.
USA - The US has lost more than 110,000 restaurants, setting the stage for a commercial real estate collapse of epic proportions. The restaurant industry is in the midst of a complete and total meltdown that is unlike anything that we have ever seen before. If you ask Google how many restaurants there are in the United States, it will tell you that there are 660,755, although that number is a few years old. But for the purposes of this article, that is a good enough estimate. Americans love to eat out, and restaurant workers are some of the hardest working people in the entire country. So it is incredibly sad to see more restaurants constantly going under.
USA - The US Senate has recessed its debate over an objection to the results of the Electoral College after pro-Trump protesters forced police to lock down the building. Protesters tore down metal barricades at the bottom of the Capitol's steps and were met by officers in riot gear. Some tried to push past the officers who held shields and officers could be seen firing pepper spray into the crowd to keep them back. Mike Pence, Vice President, had to be evacuated. The outgoing president had earlier encouraged supporters gathered in DC to march on the Capitol to protest. Meanwhile, Democrat challenger Raphael Warnock has beaten incumbent Republican Kelly Loeffler in one of the two Georgia run-off elections. In the second race, Democrat Jon Ossoff has also taken a narrow lead over Republican David Perdue, with 98 per cent of the vote counted.

USA - On Sunday, a Democratic representative — who also happens to have been a pastor for 37 years — gave an official prayer to open the 117th Congress. With great pomp and circumstance, he closed his prayer by invoking “the monotheistic god,” Brahma, and the god who supposedly goes by many names. He then concluded with the most asinine thing I have ever heard. He ended with “amen … and a-woman.” “We ask it in the name of the monotheistic god, Brahma, and god known by many names by many different faiths,” Cleaver concluded. “Amen … and A-woman.” Yet this “a-woman” fiasco should show Americans just how stupid and shallow much of Democrats’ pandering in the name of “inclusivity” really is.

VENEZUELA - Venezuela’s government is planning to move to a fully digital economy as hyperinflation has made worthless bolivar notes practically disappear, and dollarization expands through the local financial system. The US dollar has operated as an escape valve for Venezuela amid US sanctions and collapsing oil revenues, President Nicolas Maduro said in a televised interview with Telesur on Friday. Venezuela’s currency has lost 99% of its value during three years of hyperinflation, forcing the country to issue higher-denomination notes that in turn become useless in record time. Inflation soared 5,790% in the last 12 months, according to Bloomberg News’s Cafe con Leche Index. The largest note now in circulation, 50,000 bolivars, is worth about $0.04. The government has delayed plans to issue a 100,000 bolivar bill, which currently would be worth less than $0.10.
INDIA - India is fighting to dispel rumors that two newly-approved coronavirus vaccines can cause erectile dysfunction, but the country’s drug regulator may have overdone it by insisting that the jabs are more than 100-percent safe. On Sunday, India officially gave the green light to Covishield, a drug developed by the Pune-based Serum Institute based on the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine, as well as Covaxin, created by Indian pharmaceutical Bharat Biotech.
