MYANMAR - The leaders of the Southeast Asian country of Myanmar have been arrested by the nation’s military for allegedly committing massive vote fraud during the November 2020 elections. Myanmar’s State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and President Win Myint were both arrested in morning raids on Monday by the nation’s armed forces, after widespread allegations that they had committed election fraud. The official results of the November election in Myanmar, also known as Burma, showed a victory for the liberal National League for Democracy (NLD), which is led by Aung San Suu Kyi. However, it soon became apparent, according to the military, that massive vote fraud had taken place. General Zaw Min Tun had been calling for the election commission to provide final voter lists for cross-checking… “Not resolving this in line with the law means this is a political crisis,” he told reporters last week.
USA - It looks to me as if we are about to enter a very dark and dangerous political storm such as our nation has not seen. The sunlight of a free exchange of ideas, of thought-provoking discussion, of attending church, of tolerating a simple different point of view appears close to being extinguished. History is being rewritten and even statues of Lincoln are being brought down. One must wonder, how long it will be until we are no longer allowed to have cities, counties, colleges, or streets named Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Jackson or Roosevelt. Is Darkness now falling in America?

Florida governor Ron DeSantis’ new plan to fine these companies if they censor candidates is good, but the policies need to go further. The growing trend of Big Tech tyranny by companies like Facebook and Twitter has made one thing clear: These companies, thanks to their wealth, and the enormous influence they wield regarding the flow of information and global communication, are now more powerful than most countries. In fact, Facebook is now more powerful than any elected body or representative – including the president of the United States. Here in the US, the rules are inscribed within our Constitution. It’s called the First Amendment, and as an American company, Facebook should be respecting the Constitution and its protection of political speech. Big Tech’s overreaching power and ability to sabotage diplomatic relations and election integrity is the most pressing issue facing the world, and it's an issue that all world leaders who care about free and fair elections should unite to address unless they want to live under a one-world global technocracy.

AFRICA - A new malaria mosquito is emerging in African cities, with potentially devastating consequences for those living there, according to a new study. The larvae of Anopheles stephensi - India's main mosquito vector of malaria - are now "abundantly present" in locations across Africa, researchers from The Netherlands' Radboud University Medical Center and Ethiopia's Armauer Hansen Research Institute said. Vectors are living organisms that can transmit infectious pathogens between humans, or from animals to people. This mosquito species only appeared in Africa a few years ago. Now, this invasive insect is "abundantly present" in water containers in cities in Ethiopia - and highly susceptible to local strains of malaria, researchers have said. Most African mosquitoes that can transmit malaria are known to breed in rural areas. However, experts were already concerned this particular mosquito has found a foothold in urban areas, including cities in Ethiopia, Sudan and Djibouti, which researchers said could increase the malaria risk for urban populations.
USA - LGBT activists are cheering Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s announcement that he will reverse an order from President Donald Trump and put up “pride” flags at US Embassies around the world. Outfront magazine reported on the development: “The Biden administration is off to a hopeful start, as Secretary of State nominee, Antony Blinken, has confirmed a recommitment to LGBTQ rights."
USA - The destruction of a short-selling hedge fund by investors on Reddit was a formidable display of people power. It exposed the US stock market’s feet of clay – and the panicked elites are sure to retaliate. American video game retailer GameStop has made a splash in the news this week after a showdown took place between hedge funds attempting to short sell the company’s stocks and Redditors attempting to fight back. After a hard-fought battle, the folks over at r/WallStreetBets scored a victory when a heavily battered Melvin Capital closed out its short position in Gamestop, putting several things plain on display – mainly, the utter absurdity of the US financial market.

USA - The shortage of physical silver is exposing a tear in the precious metals market unlike any we have seen before. Various executives from bullion dealers have explained that huge demand has left them with no supply (and no source) for physical silver. And while silver futures prices (paper silver) have 'stabilized' modestly during the day... physical silver prices remain at extremes... Simply put, the establishment can print all the paper silver it wants, but there is no physical supply... and that likely ends badly for those attempting to suppress reality for too long.
FINLAND - Finnish MEP Laura Huhtasaari has lashed out at the bloc hinting at its pursuit of a federalist dream. In her tweet, she questioned the “defects in the euro” and suggested they are “intentional”. She tweeted: “I wonder if the defects in the euro are intentional because they serve a purpose. Accelerate federal development when the deficits are ‘corrected’?”
USA - A growing number of states and members of the US Congress are backing legislation to protect female athletes from competing against men who consider themselves to be transgender women. This is in contrast to President Joe Biden’s focus on expanding “gender identity” rights, including allowing them to serve in the US military. Biden also took early action to decide executively that Title IX, a statute to protect women from discrimination because of their biological sex at schools receiving federal funds, also protects “gender identity.”
USA - Project Veritas released a new video today leaked by a brave Facebook insider exposing CEO Mark Zuckerberg and other senior executives admitting to the company’s wide-ranging powers to censor political speech and promote partisan objectives.
USA - Animal-rights campaigners PETA have a cracking new wheeze for us all to worry about: we need to stop using ‘human supremacist’ expressions such as ‘greedy pig’ or ‘sneaky rat’ to avoid offending our furry friends. It’s high time that animals had the vote, don’t you think? They say turkeys would never vote for Christmas. Well, how dare ‘they’ make such an assumption? Let’s put it to the test, shall we? They’re sentient beings too, same as humans. They should have the very same rights as we do. No matter that they’d only ever vote for the Corn Party, let’s at least give them the choice to put their beak mark in a gobble box of their choosing. No?
USA - In just seven days, President Biden issued 42 executive actions. That’s ten times as many as Donald Trump and over eight times as many as Barack Obama. It is a whopping 22 times greater than Bill Clinton, and 42 more than Presidents Reagan and Bush. As the left liked to say of Donald Trump: this is not normal. Joe Biden even recognized this on the run up to the Presidential election, calling the unilateral use of executive actions the hallmark of a “dictator.” Speaking at an October 15th, 2020 town hall with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, then-candidate Biden insisted that presidents who rule by executive order are undemocratic: “I have this strange notion. We are a democracy. Some of my Republican friends and some of my Democratic friends even say: well if you can’t get the votes, by executive order you’re going to do something, things you can’t do by executive order unless you’re a dictator. We’re a democracy. We need consensus,” the President who’s relied on executive orders to pass his agenda added.
RUSSIA - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday warned against the increasing influence of large technology companies, which he said are “competing” with states. His comments came as Russia ramps up pressure on the activities of foreign internet companies, which are not subject to state censorship unlike the majority of the country’s media outlets. “These are not just economic giants."
