Artificial sweeteners became popular that decade also, when super-models featured the tall-skinny-no-figure look. Next, add in some industrial-based artificial food coloring, high fructose corn syrup, chemically-conditioned gluten, and glyphosate-ridden wheat, and what have you got? A country full of sickly humans dying young from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Americans don’t eat real food much anymore, they just eat junk-science, processed food-like products chock full of concentrated salts, synthetic sweeteners, artificial hormones, chemical conditioners, and “preservatives” that add shelf life to the products, all while shortening human life. Did you know that the softening conditioners used in most bread are synthetic? Most flour processed and distributed in America contains a boatload of chemicals (up to 60) that are all approved by the FDA, including bleach (which causes pancreatic and bladder cancer) and azodicarbonamide (the same kind used for shoe rubber and yoga mats).

Instead of simply using the “normal” formula for bread – unadulterated flour, water, salt and yeast, nearly all bread sold in America, including at almost every restaurant and fast food joint, fosters health nightmares no medical doctors can seem to solve. Plus, most US grain is covered in glyphosate weed killer (aka Roundup) to help dry it out before it’s cut down and piled into silos. The bleach then destroys the nutrients and the fiber, and the gooey gluten sticks like glue, along with all those chemicals, in your intestinal tract, which is literally more than 20 feet long stretched out. Got plumbing issues? It’s no wonder why. You’re eating bread-like food stuff.

Organizers of the initiative, which was launched Tuesday, believe more of their peers will sign the letter before Thursday, when they intend to publish the final version to coincide with this year’s Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem. The move comes in response to the letter published last Thursday by more than 200 Orthodox rabbis – including local chief rabbis and yeshiva heads – that described members of the LGBTQ community as “perverts” and their behavior as “aggressive terrorism.”

The original letter was meant as an expression of solidarity with Jerusalem Rabbi Aryeh Stern, who had come under fire for voicing opposition to same-sex couples raising children.

“This coalition would include Israel,” he promised the 36 newly-minted naval commanders, “in all its branches.”  Netanyahu was referring to the attack last week by Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi rebels on two Saudi oil tankers in the straits, an attack that led to the temporary suspension of Saudi oil shipment through the area and a spike in global oil prices.  The Bab Al-Mandab Strait, one of the world’s busiest shipping routes, is the southern entrance to the Red Sea. As such, it is a bottleneck for maritime traffic to Israel’s southern port of Eilat.

Netanyahu emphasized the importance of sea power in his comments Wednesday.  “The sea provides us with many opportunities. Above all it increases the small size of the State of Israel and allows us to deploy our vessels above and below the waves across a vast area. This gives the State of Israel considerable power,” he said.

Following the attack of the two tankers in the Red Sea the Saudi Government launched a partial oil blockade that could have major repercussions on the global oil trade. The European Union voiced concerns the ongoing blockade could soon become a “threat” to international trade as the Bab al-Mandeb strait is one of the world’s most important and heavily-used tanker routes for trade from the Middle East to Europe and the United States.

Speaking about the conflict, Helima Croft, global head of commodity strategy at RBC Capital Markets said: “We’re just one missile away somewhere from getting into a more direct confrontation."

But the amount of money that has already been lost is absolutely huge, and it isn’t going to take much to turn this panic into a full-blown stampede.  In a lot of ways, what we are watching is very reminiscent of 2001.  When the original tech bubble burst, the crash was so rapid and so dramatic that many ordinary investors were not able to react in time.  As I have explained so many times before, markets tend to go down a whole lot faster than they go up, and the events of the last three trading days have been completely breathtaking.

- The 10 leading US tech companies lost an astounding 82.7 billion dollars in stock value on Monday.

- Overall, FANG stocks have lost 220 billion dollars in stock value over the last 3 trading days.  According to Zero Hedge, that represents “the biggest market cap loss in history”.

- Last Thursday, Facebook had the worst day for a single company in the history of the stock market.

- Morgan Stanley’s chief US equity strategist is warning that “the selling has just begun and this correction will be the biggest since the one we experienced in February.”

- One major investor has told CNBC that he believes that the major tech stocks could ultimately lose 30 or 40 percent of their value…

Hopefully the market will settle down tomorrow, and without a doubt we will see a bounce at some point.  But it is certainly starting to feel like 2001 and 2008 all over again, but this time the bubble is far bigger than ever before. How will this story ultimately end? I think that we all know the answer, and it isn’t going to be pretty…

It confirms that they see us, not as citizens to be engaged with, but as overgrown children to be panicked and cajoled into accepting that the adults – them – know what is best for society. This Project Fear could backfire badly, by showing Brexit voters that they were dead right to view the technocratic elite as a contemptuous class, and dead right to vote against it in the referendum.

Nothing in this low enterprise tells us Brexit is a bad idea. On the contrary, the idea that EU nations would withhold life-saving medicine from Brits simply because we want to leave the union only confirms what a ruthless bureaucracy now rules Europe. And our own political class’s use of fear to try to cow the public and make us give up on our democratic aspirations only confirms how disdainful they have become. In short, this latest outing for Project Fear makes Brexit look more attractive than ever.

For example, the number of people living on the street in Los Angeles has shot up 75 percent over the last 6 years.  But of course LA is far from alone.  Other major cities on the west coast are facing similar problems, and that includes Seattle.  It turns out that the Emerald City has seen a 46 percent rise in the number of people sleeping in their vehicles in just the past year…

Amazon, Microsoft and other big tech companies are in the Seattle area.  It is a region that is supposedly “prospering”, and yet this is going on. Sadly, it isn’t just major urban areas that are seeing more people sleeping in their vehicles.  Over in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, many of the homeless sleep in their vehicles even in the middle of winter… It is time to admit that we have a problem.  The number of homeless in this country is surging, and we need to start coming up with some better solutions.

But instead, many communities are simply passing laws that make it illegal for people to sleep in their vehicles… Many middle class families are relying on debt to get them from month to month, and consumer debt in the United States has surged to an all-time high.  But eventually a day of reckoning comes, and we all understand that. The US economy is not going to be getting any better than it is right now.  So it is time to be a lean, mean saving machine, because it will be important to have a financial cushion for the hard times that are ahead of us.

However, they have cautioned that a specific timetable, the issues to be discussed and the format for talks aren’t finalized, but at least there is agreement among the principals that more talks need to take place. After some early success, negotiations have been stalled for weeks, with both sides in a standoff. Meanwhile, high-level US talks on trade posture with China are ongoing.

Complicating matters, however, is a harder line approach taken by US trade representatitve Robert Lightizer, who is in charge of the US's "301 investigation" that resulted in the tariffs, and which concluded that China has been stealing US technology. The next wave of tariffs is set to kick in as soon as Wednesday, with the possible imposition of $16 billion of duties on Chinese imports - a move Beijing has vowed to respond to with the same level of tariffs on US products.

Predictably, both stocks… and the Yuan… have surged following this report that war de-escalation may be coming. Then again, we've been here before. As a reminder, this latest renewed "peace" effort is being led by Mnuchin and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He - the same two allegedly brokered a truce in May, which was promptly shattered just days later by more hawkish members within the Trump administration, and the president himself.

Exactly 16 years ago Thursday, President Bush signed Proclamation 7463, giving himself sweeping powers to mobilize the military in the days following terrorist attacks that crashed planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a Pennsylvania field. It allowed him to call up National Guard and Reserve troops, hire and fire military officers, and bypass limits on the numbers of generals that could serve.

Presidents Bush and Obama renewed that emergency each year. And on Wednesday, Trump published a now-routine notice in the Federal Register extending the emergency for the 16th time, explaining simply that "the terrorist threat continues."

“We’ve seen nuns ordered to buy contraceptives,” he said. “We’ve seen US senators ask judicial and executive branch nominees about dogma — even though the Constitution explicitly forbids a religious test for public office. We’ve all seen the ordeal faced so bravely by Jack Phillips,” he added, referencing the case of the Colorado baker who won a Supreme Court victory recently, appealing his punishment for declining to bake a custom wedding cake for a same-sex couple based on his religious beliefs.

Religious freedoms are guaranteed under the First Amendment of the Constitution, but courts across the country have encountered problems balancing this protection with anti-discrimination laws, as was the case with Phillips.

Sessions went on to describe the cultural climate in America as hostile to people of faith, and promised his Department would defend God-fearing Americans’ right to practice their religion. “In short, we have not only the freedom to worship — but the right to exercise our faith. The Constitution’s protections don’t end at the parish parking lot nor can our freedoms be confined to our basements,” he said. “Religious Americans are no longer an afterthought.”

Cuban is a billionaire entrepreneur, a star of the ABC reality show “Shark Tank” and the owner of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team. He is also certain that a version of the Terminator is coming thanks to the advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics weaponry.

Speaking to an audience of high school students at the High School Leadership Summit Turning Point USA event in Washington DC, Cuban laid down several serious warnings about the future of artificial intelligence and among them was a reference to the 1984 movie, “The Terminator,” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as a cyborg assassin.

“For weaponry, we already have the ability to have weapons think… They’re only going to go further and further as technology progresses,” declared Cuban, according to Observer. “If we don’t win this battle, the world is going to be upside down and that scares …me.”
