USA - Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox News @ Night,” Senator Lindsey Graham (Republican for South Carolina) explained why he was not one of his US Senate colleagues that opposed levying tariffs against Mexico for its seemingly lack of willingness to control its southern border, which is contributing to US immigration problems. Graham argued the angst from Republicans was misguided at President Donald Trump. “Tariffs would be tough on the economy,” Graham said. “But the borders are broken that needs to be fixed. And if tariffs is what it takes to get Mexico to do better on their side of the border, I’m all for tariffs. Trump is not the problem. Mexico is the problem. I’m blaming the Congress because we can’t do our job. And I’m blaming Mexico.”
RUSSIA - Just one month after conducting joint military exercises, Russia and China are set to sign an agreement which would boost the use of their national currencies in bilateral and international trade in an attempt to move away from the current dollar-denominated financial system, according to Russian state-owned news outlet TASS. The Kremlin released a draft decree on Wednesday outlining "settlements and payments for goods, service and direct investments between economic entities of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China are made in accordance with the international practice and the legislation of the sides’ states with the use of foreign currency, the Russian currency (rubles) and the Chinese currency (yuan)."
USA - Just as we predicted, the Cult of LGBTQ is eagerly trying to add another letter onto its title: a P, for pedophiles. The pro-LGBTQ Snapchat app, at least, decided that it would be a good idea to celebrate “Pride Month” in June by adding a new “love has no age” filter to its app, which was reportedly pulled just two days after it was launched in response to massive public backlash. But while it was still operating, the “love has no age” filter apparently promoted the idea that sexual activity between people of any age, including children, is just another form of “self-expression” to be included on the LGBTQ “rainbow.” According to reports, the inclusion of a P in LGBTQP by Snapchat is part of a concerted effort by pedophiles to force their perversion into the mix of accepted “gender identities” and “sexual orientations...”
USA - The middle class in America is being systematically eviscerated, and it is getting worse with each passing year. One new study has found that 10 percent of Americans now own 70 percent of all the wealth. Once upon a time, the United States had the largest and most vibrant middle class in the history of the world, but pretty soon we are just going to have the ultra-wealthy and everyone else. Our system has been designed to funnel as much wealth as possible to the very top of the financial pyramid, and that means that most of the rest of us are deeply struggling.
USA - US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and Middle East peace adviser Jared Kushner will hold talks with European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker in Brussels on Tuesday, the EU announces. “The [EU Commission] president [Jean-Claude Juncker] will meet Jared Kushner, senior adviser to the president of the United States of America, Donald Trump. They will discuss the Middle East situation and other geopolitical issues,” Commission spokeswoman Mina Andreeva told reporters.
USA - Would you eat something from a container labeled “Explosives” or “Petroleum Products” or “Pesticides?” We didn’t think so, but you do, and probably daily, if you live in the United States and eat non-organic bread. You might as well be digging into one of those bio-hazard containers when you open that bread bag and grab a few slices, or get that conventional burger, hot dog, bagel, pizza, chicken sandwich, quesadilla, or sub roll. The dough “conditioners” are industrial applications used to keep it all white, soft and “fresh” looking, but the short-and-long-term health implications you don’t even want to hear about, much less incur.
USA - Virginia Tech offered ten separate graduation ceremonies this year for different student groups based on identity. In May, the university held separate ceremonies for Black, Asian, Latino, Muslim, and LGBTQ students. Breitbart News reported in May that many American colleges offer separate graduation ceremonies for Black students.
USA - The number of homeless people in Los Angeles County jumped 12 percent over the last year to nearly 59,000 living on the streets, according to a report released Tuesday. The newly released data revealed that nearly three-fourths of the homeless population, which includes 58,936 people, are sleeping in cars, tents, and other make-do shelters. The report revealed more than 3,800 of the total homeless population are veterans, 2,866 of which are unsheltered and “not in family units.” In a tweet issued to his account last week, Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom boasted that “California’s what happens when rights are respected.”
USA - The global economic slowdown is really starting to accelerate. Just within the past few days, we have gotten more really awful global manufacturing numbers, the trade war has expanded to more nations, and the Nasdaq has officially entered correction territory. We have not witnessed this sort of global economic environment since the Great Recession, and if the economic chaos continues to escalate it won’t take too much to spark a brand new financial crisis. Of course the global financial system is far more vulnerable than it was back in 2008, and so if we stay on the path that we are currently on we could be facing a nightmare scenario very rapidly. Let’s talk about the manufacturing numbers first. The numbers coming out of Germany are already at a crisis level, and manufacturing is also now contracting in Japan, South Korea and China as well. Overall, global manufacturing as a whole has now fallen into contraction territory for the first time in seven years…
UK - Ensuring the UK leaves the EU is a fundamental question of democracy according to several Brexit Party supporters. Nigel Farage’s new party stormed to victory in last week’s European Parliament elections, taking 31 percent of the British vote. They are hoping to gain their first MP on Thursday, in the Peterborough by-election. Britain had been due to leave the EU on March 29, but this has been delayed twice to October 31. A number of Brexit Party supporters spoke to Express.co.uk outside a west London rally. One activist commented: “We’re not out of the EU, when we voted for it in 2016, because we have a Parliament that does not believe it should carry out the will of the people. They’re our servants, not our masters.”
UK - The Special Relationship between Britain and the United States was reaffirmed last night with moving toasts in the Buckingham Palace ballroom as Donald Trump clinked glasses with the Queen and patted her shoulder having called her a 'great, great woman'. Amid the splendour and ceremony of a state banquet for 170 dignitaries and guests, the US President thanked the monarch for her 'gracious hospitality' and 'nearly seven decades' of personal friendship with the United States. He spoke of the Blitz and the bombing of Buckingham Palace, saying that 'in their dark hour the people of this nation showed the world what it means to be British'.
USA - As the European Union moves towards building a common military, the US has reportedly threatened to leave its allies in the lurch if Brussels continues to insist on cutting US weapons makers out of the bargain. If the EU does not amend the proposed rules of the European Defense Fund (EDF) and Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) – an initiative to create a future EU military – Brussels may have to make do without US weapons or NATO aid, a senior State Department official said in a meeting last month, according to the Spanish daily El Pais. Citing transcripts from a May 22 meeting in Washington, El Pais reported that Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Michael Murphy told a group of European security ambassadors that the proposed rules are too restrictive for US manufacturers, and needed to be changed when it comes to intellectual property, technology transfer and export controls.
GERMANY - Angela Merkel could be in trouble as the Greens overtake her centre-right party to become the most popular in Germany, according to an opinion poll. The poll found that the Greens had 27 percent of the support, which is just a one point lead ahead of Ms Merkel’s conservative CDU/CSU bloc. Meanwhile, Ms Merkel’s Socialist SPD coalition partners plummeted to an all-time low. The poll asked voters which party they would back in a national election. The SPD, which is one of Europe’s flagship centre-left parties, was down by five points to 12 percent. The SPD’s disappointing result puts them just a single point ahead of the far right Alternative for Germany party (AfD).
USA - It looks like 2019 could be the worst year for US agriculture in modern American history by a very wide margin. Millions upon millions of acres of US farmland will go unused this year due to cataclysmic flooding. And many of the farmers that did manage to plant crops are reporting extremely disappointing results. The 12 month period that concluded at the end of April was the wettest 12 month period in US history, and more storms just kept on coming throughout the month of May.
USA - Mall-based retailers reported dismal earnings last week, reminding investors of the sector’s fundamental problems. The growth of e-commerce has hit retailers hard. Retailers’ earnings season has gone from bad to worse. The bleeding intensified last week, with shares of Abercrombie & Fitch plummeting 26% on Wednesday, the biggest percentage decline since the company went public. PVH Corp, owner of brands including Van Heusen, Tommy Hilfilger, and Calvin Klein, dropped 10% that day, too. On Thursday, women’s wear chain J Jill was down a jaw-dropping 53% and on Friday, Gap Inc slid 9%. It is hard to miss what all of these retailers have in common: They are mall-based.
