USA - How far down does the slippery slope go? A newly proposed bill in the California State Legislature could expand the ghastly practice of abortion to include infanticide – the killing of a newborn child – for several weeks, months, or even years after a child is born. According to the pro-life group ‘Right to Life League,’ CA Assembly Bill 2223 “literally decriminalizes infanticide” by eliminating civil and criminal penalties for abortion up to, and past, the point of birth. The bill specifically includes the term “perinatal death” under the definition of abortion, which would allow for fully-developed, already-born babies to be snuffed out at the will of their mothers for a still-undefined amount of time. We all know how extreme the liberal bastion of California is already; however, AB 2223 takes things to a whole new level. This is pure evil, LiMandri said, pointing out that the Federal Government defines ‘perinatal’ as “up to 24 months” following birth.
SAUDI ARABIA - Saudi Arabia has announced a halt to all military operations in Yemen, with the aim of reaching a permanent solution to the conflict in the neighboring country, the spokesman for the Riyadh-led coalition announced on Tuesday evening. Yemen’s Houthi rebels had offered a three-day armistice earlier, which they said could be permanent if the Saudis agreed. In the ceasefire announcement, Al-Maliki pointed out that the Saudi-led coalition “reaffirms its steadfast position in supporting the legitimate government of Yemen in both its political positions and military procedures and measures,” referring to the Riyadh-backed rival of the Houthis. So while it is possible that the Ramadan truce can become permanent, the dispute underlying the seven-year conflict remains unresolved. The UN has estimated over 400,000 Yemenis have died due to the war, many of them children under the age of five who perished due to starvation and disease caused by the blockade.
ISRAEL - An impending nuclear deal with Iran currently being pushed by the Biden administration would grant the Islamic Republic hundreds of billions of dollars to be used for “terror and aggression” and wouldn’t avert its attaining of nuclear weapons, warned Israeli opposition leader and former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who called to oppose the agreement that poses real danger to the US, Israel and the world, claiming top US diplomat Antony Blinken was “making a big mistake.”
USA - Destabilizing the social, political and economic structure of 190 sovereign countries cannot constitute a “solution” to combating the virus. But that was the imposed “solution” which was implemented in several stages from the very outset of the corona crisis in January 2020. It’s the destruction of people’s lives. It is the destabilization of civil society.
GERMANY - Nothing appeared to have been known about Schwab's family, and there was a curious lacuna in his biography at that time from when he completed his degrees to his emergence on the world stage as the spokesman for Mr Globaloney and The Great Financial Reset. While serving in a leadership capacity at Sulzer-Escher-Wyss, the company sought to aid the nuclear ambitions of the South African regime, then the most Nazi adjacent government in the world…
USA - Russia has just made some moves that are going to change the global financial system forever. When the conflict in Ukraine originally erupted, the US immediately attempted to crash the value of Russia’s currency. Those attempts were successful for a few days, but now the value of the ruble relative to the US dollar is almost all the way back to where it was before the start of the war. This has absolutely stunned many of the experts, because they thought that US sanctions would absolutely cripple Russia.
USA - Given how much is at stake, this financial revolution is among the most important questions today’s societies could possibly grapple with. It should be under discussion in every parliament of every land, and every dinner table in every country in the world.
USA - Cotton futures jumped as high as 4% Monday, reaching a new decade high, as data supplied by weather forecasters say drought conditions in Texas could tighten supplies. The front-month contract in New York hit $1.41 a pound, the highest intraday level since May 2011. Cotton futures have soared nearly 9.5% in the last three sessions. Prices are coming back in on Monday after hitting a new decade high. Prices around 0950 ET are around $1.36. The latest spike in prices has been due to drought fears in Texas and Ukraine conflict tightening supplies. Bloomberg cited new data from weather forecaster Ajay Kedia, director at researcher Kedia Commodity, who indicated drought conditions for West Texas would pressure supplies. Texas is the largest state in terms of production; the US is the number three producer in the world. Earlier this month, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration published a new report forecasting between April to June, much of the western US, including Texas, will struggle with severe to exceptional drought conditions.
USA - Water levels at Lake Powell have dipped below a critical threshold threatening the source of power that millions of people across seven states rely on for electricity. Lake Powell's fall to below 1,075 meters (3,525 feet) puts it at its lowest level since it was filled after the federal government dammed the Colorado River at Glen Canyon in 1963 and threatens to hit 'deadpool' - the point at which water likely would fail to flow through the stream - if it drops even more. The Glen Canyon, which the lake's main body stretches across, won't be able to pull the water needed to generate power at 1,064 meters (3,490 feet) - just 11 meters (35 feet) below the recent record low. Sitting at the border of Utah and Arizona, Lake Powell is part of a system that supplies water for 40 million people in multiple western states, and through the Glen Canyon Dam, supplies power for more than five million people.
USA - Earth’s poles are undergoing simultaneous freakish extreme heat with parts of Antarctica more than 70 degrees (40 degrees Celsius) warmer than average and areas of the Arctic more than 50 degrees (30 degrees Celsius) warmer than average. Weather stations in Antarctica shattered records Friday as the region neared autumn. The two-mile high (3,234 meters) Concordia station was at 10 degrees (-12.2 degrees Celsius), which is about 70 degrees warmer than average, while the even higher Vostok station hit a shade above 0 degrees (-17.7 degrees Celsius), beating its all-time record by about 27 degrees (15 degrees Celsius), according to a tweet from extreme weather record tracker Maximiliano Herrera.
RUSSIA - The European Union’s move to ditch Russian energy would be suicidal, Russian Permanent Envoy to the EU Vladimir Chizhov told Rossiya-24. “I think that ditching Russian energy would be, to some extent, suicidal for European Union countries at this point, while for politicians, it would be a political suicide,” he pointed out. No payment, no gas, the Kremlin spokesman emphasized. Moscow has no intention of engaging in charity and providing gas to Europe for free if European Union countries refuse to pay for gas in rubles, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told PBS. When asked whether Russia would cut off its gas exports to Europe if EU countries refused to pay in rubles, Peskov said: “I don’t know what is going to happen when they reject this possibility. As soon as we have a final decision, we’ll see what can be done. Definitely, we’re not going to make charity out of that and send gas free of charge to Western Europe.” European countries will have to switch to rubles in payments for natural gas from Russia, since the maximum amounts of liquefied natural gas that the US can supply to replace it, is only ten percent of Russian supplies.
CHINA - Beijing has condemned US attempts to “contain and suppress” China and Russia, saying they would not succeed, after it was reported that the Biden administration had described China in its new National Defense Strategy as its “most consequential strategic competitor.” President Joe Biden briefed members of Congress on the classified version of the new strategy on Monday, which comes as Washington looks to increase its defense budget to $773 billion. Responding to a summary of the strategy documents, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said they were “full of Cold War and bloc confrontation mentality.”
USA - US President Joe Biden has proposed the largest-ever military budget, asking Congress for $813.3 billion in the coming year – $31 billion more than the budget approved for 2022. Lawmakers are likely to add even more funding, as representatives from both parties have complained it doesn’t go far enough because of inflation.
GERMANY - Gerhard Schröder, who was German chancellor from 1998 to 2005, has had a close relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin for more than two decades. Now the news portal Politico and the German mass-circulation Bild newspaper report he traveled to Moscow and met with the Russian president on Thursday evening. The trip was not coordinated with the German government, which is headed by Schröder's party, the center-left Social Democrats (SPD). SPD co-leader Lars Klingbeil said he had received no information on such a trip, but said that in his view any attempt to stop the war was good. It was only a few days ago that Soyeon Schröder-Kim, Schröder's wife, wrote on Instagram, "You can be sure that whatever my husband can do to help end the war, he will do." Whether Schröder can really influence Putin is difficult to assess. However, the Ukrainian ambassador to Germany, Andriy Melnyk, has suggested the former chancellor as a mediator. "He is one of the few here in Germany who may still have a direct line to Mr Putin. There is no one who has such a thing in Germany and the other European countries," Melnyk told the mass-circulation Bild newspaper.
NORTH KOREA - North Korea has a new ballistic missile system, and more importantly, they’ve got a new propaganda video touting it. In what may be the greatest work of cinematography I’ve ever seen, North Korean dictator Kim Jung Un makes an appearance with several of his generals, playing out what looks like a scene from a 1980s action movie. The unintentional hilariousness is off the charts. Truly, this is incredible stuff.
