NORTH KOREA - The only thing more difficult than attempting to stop one rogue nation from acquiring nuclear weapons is attempting to stop two rogue nations collaborating to do so.
ISRAEL - Archaeologists have found evidence that the Babylonians were responsible for the burning of Jerusalem more than 2,600 years ago. The researchers discovered charred wood, grape seeds, fish scales, bones and pottery along with numerous other artefacts while excavating the City of David. The findings confirm the scene as described in the Bible, which states that the Babylonians 'burned all the houses of Jerusalem.'
ISRAEL - Several dozen prominent national-religious rabbis issued a statement on Thursday encouraging Jews to visit the Temple Mount, a call which comes against the background of severe tensions that have surrounded the site since two Israeli policemen were murdered there by three Arab-Israeli men two weeks ago. The rabbis declared that it is of religious merit to visit the Temple Mount and that such visits bolster the Jewish people’s claim to it. “It is a great merit to go up, and to be raised up, to the holy mountain in order to seek guidance for Zion and to strengthen our hold on this holy place,” wrote the rabbis.
TURKEY - Foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) will convene in Istanbul on August 1 to discuss ongoing tension in east Jerusalem after Israel attempted to restrict the use of the Harem al-Sherif for Muslims, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a written statement. According to the statement, Turkey made the call for the extraordinary meeting as the term president of the OIC. The OIC Executive Committee will discuss recent developments, read the statement without giving details.
USA - The Environmental Working Group, a non-profit research organization environmental watchdog, released a searchable database Thursday that shows almost 50,000 public water systems in the US are contaminated with dozens of harmful chemicals. Some of the chemicals found in your drinking water include – arsenic, hexavalent chromium, radiation, chloroform, perfluorooctanoic acid, Bromodichloromethane, Dichloroacetic acid, Barium, and Uranium; and that’s just scratching the surface of the 250-plus contaminants the group discovered.

GERMANY - The European Union should slap the United States with punitive sanctions in response to Washington hitting Moscow with financial restrictions, a leading German business group has declared. Washington is set to hit Russia with tougher financial restrictions after it allegedly meddled in last year's presidential election. But the measures have left political and business figures in the eurozone's largest economy fuming. Germans fear the US actions will hit its firms trying to do business with the former Soviet state. The German Committee on East European Economic Relations (EEER) has now lashed out at the US and accused it of trying to boost energy exports to Europe with the Russian sanctions.
NORTH KOREA - Kim Jong-Un boasted of North Korea's ability to strike any target in the US after a second ICBM test that weapons experts said Saturday could even bring New York into range – in a potent challenge to President Donald Trump. China condemned the test but US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Beijing and Moscow bore "unique responsibility" for the growing threat posed by the reclusive North. Under Kim's leadership North Korea has accelerated its drive towards a credible nuclear strike capability, in defiance of international condemnation and multiple sets of UN sanctions. The "leader said proudly the test also confirmed all the US mainland is within our striking range," it said.
USA - Dr Michelle Cretella, a pediatrician, is alarmed at the increase of transgender ideology in her field of medicine. Children between the ages of 9 and 12 are being given puberty-blocking drugs and sex-altering hormones as precursors to surgically changing their sex. The drugs can make them sterile, and there is zero evidence that changing genders is safe or even helpful. Almost all children with sex-identity problems eventually outgrow that stage and, after puberty, readily accept their biological gender. Dr Cretella says that transgender drugs and surgery for children is nothing less than child abuse.
USA - In London last week, I met a Nigerian man who succinctly expressed the reaction of much of the world to the United States these days. “Your country has gone crazy,” he said, with a mixture of outrage and amusement. “I’m from Africa. I know crazy, but I didn’t ever think I would see this in America.”
EUROPE - A senior European leader today made the shock admission that the EU does not work in its current form and that politicians from the member states barely even know each other. Slovakian prime minister Robert Fico delivered a damning verdict of Brussels’ decision making processes, saying they need a radical overhaul if the bloc is to survive. In a forthright address he said recent meetings of the EU Council of 27 leaders showed “how little we know about each other” and bemoaned the superficial nature of European debate. He said that fewer decisions should be taken in Brussels and more power should be delegated to regional bodies in comments which will fuel fears amongst some that the bloc could disintegrate.
CHINA - The Chinese state propaganda outlet Global Times has published an incendiary column claiming that the Chinese public “really detest US reconnaissance” in Asia and “actually wanted” China to shoot down a US reconnaissance plane dangerously intercepted over the weekend. The Global Times called the Pentagon’s objection to the outrageous aerial move “ridiculous” and demanded the United States cease all intelligence operations in the region.

USA - We are living in the greatest debt bubble in the history of the world. In 1980, total government and personal debt in the United States was just over the 3 trillion dollar mark, but today it has surpassed 41 trillion dollars. That means that it has increased by almost 14 times since Ronald Reagan was first elected president. I am searching for words to describe how completely and utterly insane this is, but I am coming up empty. We are slowly but surely committing national suicide, and yet most Americans don’t even understand what is happening. According to 720 Global, total government debt plus total personal debt in the United States was just over 3 trillion dollars in 1980. That broke down to $38,552 per household, and that figure represented 79 percent of median household income at the time. There is no way that this is going to end well.
ISRAEL - Although for a moment it seemed that the metal detector crisis had ended Monday night, with the removal of the electronic gates and cameras from the entrances to the Temple Mount, we are evidently still in the midst of an impasse that may last for quite some time.
ISRAEL - The Israeli government missed the point of Palestinian anger directed at metal detectors placed at entrances to the Temple Mount and, having misdiagnosed the situation, made a decision that failed to resolve the crisis and has only made it worse. At least, that’s what many of the Muslim protesters in the streets of Jerusalem’s Old City have been saying since the metal detectors were removed early Tuesday morning.
